Hi, I'm Tamara!
UX and service designer.
I am 27 years old, from the UK, based in Sydney, and passionate about solving complex problems through design. Other things I am interested in are technology, sustainable innovation and social entrepreneurship. With experience in computer science and research, I am particularly fascinated by the intersection between humans and technology and protecting people in a rapidly digitising world through empathetic research and human-centred design. Being a consultant at Deloitte has given me adaptability and a proactive approach to thrive in dynamic, fast-paced projects where innovation and collaboration are paramount. I have strong experience conducting stakeholder workshops and collaborating with cross-functional teams, including developers and project managers, to deliver solutions in agile environments.
My education has also defined me as a designer. I achieved my bachelor's degree with honours in Advanced Computing from the University of Sydney. Here, I learnt about technology at it's base level (literally, I learnt to code), but rather than delving deeper into the mechanics of technology, I became captivated by the intricate social and business challenges that arise in our digital age. I published research on user acceptance of medical technologies during a time of unprecedented social upheaval: the Covid-19 pandemic, during which I developed a model for measuring the user experience of technology that was designed for trained nurses but was now placed in the hands of remote self-monitoring patients. Eventually, I completed my master's in design at the same university, specialising in design-driven innovation, and exploring new areas of design such as service design and strategic design.
What I can do
I believe I possess a unique and versatile skill set that gives me an edge as a designer in today's landscape. My deep understanding of technology, gained through firsthand experience, enables me to collaborate effectively with technical stakeholders on my projects. I also have expertise in user research that meets academic, peer-reviewed, and publishable standards. Additionally, I have worked with impressive clients during my time at one of the Big Four consulting firms in Australia. My design toolkit is comprehensive, including generating user insights, data analysis, defining problems, designing personas, storyboards, and customer journeys, as well as planning and facilitating ideation workshops, co-creation sessions, service blueprinting, information architecture, wireframing, prototyping, user testing, and UI/UX design. Finally, my passion for social entrepreneurship, healthcare, and sustainability drives my desire to help people and make the world a better place. This diverse skill set allows me to approach complex problems from innovative angles.
